A punk rider once this season said that, “This year Klikoš and Igor had gone with us and that they really needed a proper accommodation in order to go on a pow trip”. I think it was a trip to Heiligenblut and Mölltal.

Not that I would need to prove myself how big punker I am, but the word gave the word and a plan for the week in punk was born. The entire plan was planned by Svoby and Vojta. A detailed plan has been finalized on our "training" - where we went together to ride from the top, of the Travny Moravec, down on bobsleigh. There we executed a perfect plan an adventure to which we were all looking forward. It was a test of adventure and how further we can take it. None of us has ever experienced something like this before except Svoby who often sleeps in the car. The plan was quite simple: just follow the snow reports and current conditions of freshly dumped snow. Crew was obvious. : Mark & Svoby and Igor & Vojta in one car Ford Focus combi.

First we had to do roof racks for skis, which Svoby did not have. I personally recommended buying it, but for obvious reasons it was decided that we can create them. Just made them from racks which were originally for VW Passa. It took whole day, when we together I and Svobym almost froze to death during outside installation. Believe it or not but the roof racks were completely perfect. During the assembly time Vojta managed to wax by paraffin and with nice smelled candle skies so we could set out.

Our punk began in Ostrava where we stuffed that car with all things (6 pairs of skis, tents, sleeping bags and others). We somehow forgot about the fact that in Vyskov was Mark waiting for us with his two other kites and skis baggage. After arriving in Vyskov, we understood that the 4 punks with luggage will not fit in one car. So we had to attach two pairs of skis, on our originally previously made racks and solve the problem. Luckily nothing unhindered to drive 120 km / h.

The first goal of our journey was Tauplitz, thanks to Gazman echo and information from Bergfex website. At 6 o'clock we arrived at the parking lot, where the cars are trapped thx to 1m o fresh snow. Unpacked the trunk, made a tea and slowly set out on the face. Weather was just perfect. Azure sky and fresh pow. Tauplitz was surprising by all its possibilities which we after a shortly time discovered on the left of side of the resort. Terrain was very interesting, I must say. After this hard day of traveling, traverses, and hiking through the powder we came about half past four back to parking lot. Re-pack, this time sleeping bags, tents, mats. Put on skins and set out into the woods to look for punk a punk accommodation. We found uproots trees, which created a hole. We customized these holes to our needs and built two tents facing each other. The temperature drops below -20 degrees and we started to creep into sleeping bags, where also put our insoles of shoes, gloves and everything we needed dry out. Vojta plugged his ears in order to hear my snoring. I did the same to make undisturbed nap. Boys in the second tent commented that we both snore and Iam just a little bit louder. In the morning I woke up in a new feather sleeping bag SIR Joseph. Vojta was a little bit more freezed in some old army sleeping bag without impregnated cover. Marek and Svoby folded the tent quickly and in couple more minutes we were ready to leave and stick to our plan which was Sportgastein.

At 9:30 we arrived at the Sportgastein gate where, unfortunately heard bad news that the lift is not in operation due to strong wind. Svoby proposed to stay and go somewhere on skins. Luckily he was over voted so we left to very famous freeride area called Fieberbrunn . Where arrived after 11 hour.Svoby and Mark choose skins. I and Vojta set out to explore the local terrain. We managed to buy an afternoon ski pass for only 15 euros for both of us. We were quite surprised by a large number of freeriders. Well conditions were not as good as in Tauplitz but we had to hiked a little bit more and found pow anyway. At five o'clock we all met at the parking lot and decided to move into forests of Hochkönig. In the evening we arrived to Dienten and again re-packing we setting out in deep snow into the woods. Together built two tents and thanks to skies strengthen the floor, cooked a soup, and with happy mood dreamed that we accomplished exactly what we planned. Fall asleep from fatigue, and looking forward to a sunny day. In the morning after the first three days we did a bit more hygiene and after breakfast set out to try surrounded forest terrain. There we found an excellent quality of snow, so we set out on the ridge hike and then ride down on a virgin powder. The valley ended in very steep slope so we moved into the stream where water got in ma ski boot. After about an hour we reached the lift and so moved to explore the other side of the resort. Along the way we met Svoby, who informed us that Mark broke his good touring binding Diamir and heading on one ski to car while we three of us headed to another part of the resort. We looked for a ridge on which we hiked together. It was quite late, but run worth it again. We felt like in forests in Japan but end up in a creek again. Quickly went down to the lift and jumping on as last riders. It was clear that it will not manage to return to the car, so we wrote to Mark, let him know to come for us. After Mark´s arrival we unpacked the whole car again and were totally wet and frozen. Svoby proposed to stay here, but we mainly wanted to dry out our ski boots and therefore decision was to move to our next destination, which is on west side of Austira called Montafon. Along the way we had unbearable heat in the car, especially when Mark does not feel anything and showed its first signs of fever. In the morning we arrived at Montafon, where we parked and moved to our third part of punk again into the nearby woods, where we built two tents. Mark did not fall asleep all night. In the morning I and Vojta let the tent in put coz according to our schedule we stay 2 more nights at this place. We slowly become accustomed to this hard live style of punk. Svoby and Mark packed tent and came to the car. Here, Mark decided to stay and not to go with us despite our sunny weather up the mountain. We moved up the mountain and showed Svoby terrains, already explored by us. Weather was perfect. Found a powder was an excited surprise. In the afternoon we set off to unexplored chutes which was also good and at the end of the day planed a trip for next day which was hiking all the way up and reach the summit. Around 5 we arrived to the car where we go bad news: Mark has a temperature around 38.5 with suspect of pneumonia. After a short briefing and consultation we decided to move back home in the same day.

Despite the high demand on the physical and psychological strength I can say that those 4 days in Pank definitely worth it. We had fun, adventure, great skiing and friendship. This time with direct contact of nature, where a man realize many things, and so it should be.
