Finally, you have lived to see! Here you have continuation article about skiing in the U.S.. After  successful arrival at the pale we still don’t know exactly where we are, and what  is around us. At the next morning we find it out that we are at the junction Kimball , where we had a apartment for one person about 300US per month. The junction is very well known, because they are heading off the highway 80 leading to the east to the resorts The Canyons, Park City and Deer Valley. Mountains around us with 10.000 ft which is 3000m, doesn’t looks big. At first glance it doesn’t looked to bee big mountain skiing.

Mountains around us with 10.000 ft which is 3000m, doesn’t looks so big. At first glance it doesn’t looked so big mountain skiing. Regular big mountain was in insnow resort  Snowbird  and  Alta,  some comment to these resort you will find in these story.

So next morning we went to visit our employer, which we reached by bus. These bus taking a circle around three above-mentioned resorts. It was not really so far but by bus it take so mu time.  Well there was nothing at the moment do. Maybe just a idea of buying a car. After  arrival and subsequent visit to HR (Personnel Department), I get  GoreTex clothes brand L.L.Bean with logo at back center and enlist in lift operators training. Although the snow conditions were not the best, it was better to have training done. Followed receipt of the annual lift ticket for resort The Canyons , with these ski pass we can get for free ticket in another resorts Brighton, Park City, Deer Valley and  we could have 50% discount on all others resorts in Utah.

The work itself was at the beginning quite interesting, but it little bit turned out,  getting up at 6 am  morning and be in the lift when sun is rising is not so goot as it looks like.  On the other hand, work was very flexible, so I could work any day of the week, but of course with weekly scheduled time.As I mentioned it did not work without a car, so the money earned in the UK, I bought a car. For 2200us  Mitsubishi Diamante 3L. If anyone of you planning to buy something in the U.S., so we strongly recommend you to visit www.craigslist.org. They are one of the best local sites in the U.S.. I myself sold many things here, and I warmly recommend.

Now I would like concentrate to the resorts which I attended and started with my home resort.

The Canyons is a large part focused on backcountry and trees riding. When is powder day, from morning to afternoon are fired explosives because avalanches. Try to take care of everything, by equipment based of 8 avalanche dogs, and plenty of ski patrols (each has powderskis no less then  100mm under foot). Resort is one of the largest and widest in Utah.Transported from one side to another takes sometimes hours on the lifts. Individual peaks are identified by name, well memorable, such as Dreamcatcher, Daybreak and 9990, which is the highest peak altitude in feet. I personally recommend lift 9990, which after  small hike offers ride with drops or Peak 5, which has a rock in the middle of the forest in a fairly steep areas. So if you decide something drop, keep in mind that the place is not for the crash. Finally I tell you about these resort, that here can find a place family with children and freeride riders who are not just looking for a proper big mountain. About Snow Park is taking care as well with many features and line 3 to 4 jumps !

Brighton resort, which cooperate with Canyons and therefore ski ticket is valid here as well. Resort is not so big as Canyons, but offers more options as the big mountain rides, although most of tracks  are  surrounded by trees. Places for building BC kickers and tracks to hike for better rides and so on. are countless. Resort also has nice snow park with street-type. Park is good, but kicker lies are placed  in the forest so because of these lending are very hard. Brighton is located in the Cotton Woods on the opposite side from The Canyons. So you have to go back to Salt Lake City (SLC) and then enter into another valley. You can enter there at the junction where is  7 Eleven Gas Station and billboard with Tanner Hall. It is the most famous junction in the area, because it is the last station  before Alta, Brighton, Snowbird.

Alta & Snowbird: Probably one of the best ski centers of Utah, in these reports are produced most of photos for magazines like POWDER. Resort are connected in the summits, you can buy ticket for one or both. Combining these  two resorts  you are really getting nice place to ride, here you can get a lot of options and possibilities. Snowbird  resorts  is so well known, that there are going FWT, but only snowboard. I had the opportunity to go one of the Subaru Freeskiing international race, but we will tell you some other time. In Snowbird resort  you can ride down on botch  side of the mountain, which lies lifts. One of the ways to get to the other side of the mountain is the tunnel  is dug somewhere near the top of a conveyor to get you there and back. About  these two centers  I can finally say that they are full big mountain parks. These centers  I highly recommend, because I've seen a few shots of the latest freeski movie was coming from here.

Park City: I these resort you really canno’t expect any freeride. On the contrary, there is a snow park across the whole mountain. Park City is actually an old town in the mountains, where the mined ore and is really old, as the U.S. ratios. One of the lifts even begins right from the street  and drive you across the bridge, where cars passing by. Home center  one of the best skiers Tanner Hall. On the way down you can hit many jumps that worm up very well or worse, get crash at the first run.

Info: www.parkcitymountain.com

Deer Valley: the most popular resort in the U.S.. Net commerce which arrive, posh people from across America. Park and any good freeride  is not here. The center is aimed at the highest luxury in the services and especially for families with children.

That's all for the resorts  which I visited ........... others perhaps next time. Still, I would like to mention that the whole area SLC concealed many opportunities as the freeskiing and I would recommend it to everyone to see if they have this option. It is an unforgettable experience that is worth it.
