True lovers of French cuisine imagine frog thighs, snails or quail on chestnuts. If is someone powder gourmet, he desires for a resort of unlimited freeride possibilities. I can afford to write that Vars and Risoul in the Hautes Alpes in France fully satisfy both of above-mentioned flavours – they’re such a little paradise on Earth.

Would you like a sparse forest with rocks? You got it. Just carefull! Abducted by unique riding pleasure, you can ride to a valley for „a bit“ lower than the originally planned lift. If you’d like long wide wold, please try. We have enough of everything. For demanding ones, there’s special offer in form of deeps, rock cliffs and other specialities. It is no coincidence that in Vars is riden the Red Bull Linecatcher.

The resort will also enjoy the fans of women’s shapes – especially the upper part. The terrain in places looks like one breast next  to another and you ride between them. If you’d really like these terrain modifications, you can find memorial T-shirt with such a motif in local shops.

The only little shortcoming is frequent sunny weather with strong winds. Then you freeze on the cableway like a russian ice-cream. The equipment is quite elderly so don’t expect to hide in a cockpit! We were warmed-up by wild discussions like: „(vulgar word), if here was around half meter of powder, I’d (vulgar words)“. The powder was taken by wind only somewhere and we had a „fight“ for this unbabtised places with french freeriders.
